No experience is necessary. Rancho Notorious welcomes both beginners and experienced riders, and our guides will match the pace of the tour to the group whenever possible.
Some horseback riding tours are more suitable for intermediate or advanced riders, especially tours that include faster riding or more rugged terrain. If needed, our team will gladly help you choose the best tour based on your riding experience.

Riders comfortable controlling a horse at different speeds.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities, such as jeans, leggings or other long pants.
Closed-toe shoes or secure sandals are recommended to ensure a safe and comfortable ride. Avoid loose footwear that can easily slip off.
Because of Aruba’s warm climate, we also suggest bringing sunscreen, sunglasses and a cap or hat that fits securely during the ride.
Yes, children are welcome on our horseback riding tours.
Children under six years old can ride together with a parent or adult on the same horse. Children aged six and older are usually able to ride their own horse, depending on their confidence and experience.
For safety reasons, helmets are mandatory for children under 15 years of age.
We generally recommend shorter horseback riding tours for very young children, as Aruba’s warm climate and outdoor trails can become tiring for younger guests.

Yes, for the comfort, safety and well-being of our horses, the maximum rider weight limit is 220 lbs (100 kg).
At Rancho Notorious, the health and care of our horses is extremely important to us. This weight guideline helps ensure a safe and comfortable experience for both our guests and our animals.
Guest safety is always our top priority. In the event of severe weather conditions or unsafe trail conditions, Rancho Notorious may decide to reschedule or cancel a horseback riding tour.
If a tour is canceled by Rancho Notorious, guests will be informed as soon as possible and available options will be discussed.
Cruise ship guests whose tour is affected by a delayed arrival or port cancellation may request a refund by contacting our team within 7 days of the scheduled tour date.
